Albanian Premier Edi Rama has finally spoken, three days after the shocking testimony of former police vice commissar Emiljano Nuhu about the violation of a young girl by a Socialist MP’s son. The aggressor was not arrested and the victim said she was forced to withdraw her denouncement because of threats to her life. She also told a police officer made fun of her saying ‘if he beats you, he loves you’.
Premier Rama defended the police in his comment, saying “police did its job without doing any favour to the MP’s son” while condemning the violence against Xhisiela Maloku.
“The violence against the girl is unforgivable! So is the political abuse with the girl. Police did its job without making any favor to the deputy’s son. Those who oink like pigs in the mud of the political and mediatic oinking are re-violating the girl. For us, no one stands above the law”, Rama wrote on his Facebook page.
