Police vice commissar Emiljano Nuhu has revealed in an interview today he had a gun pointed to his head and has been under pressure by Socialist deputies Taulant Balla and Rrahman Rrahja, Mayor of Krujë Artur Bushi and Rrahja’s brother Xhelal Rrahja. The later put the gun to his head, ordering him to release his nephew, Rexhep Rrahja, deputy Rrahman Rrahja’s son, who was accused of rape by a local young woman. Nuhu said the heavy incident took place in his office in the police station of Fushë Krujë, on July 21.

Nuhu said the victim had denounced the rape in several police commissariats but the judiciary police officers did not take note due to the strong influence of aggressor’s father, a deputy of the Socialist Party for the area of Krujë.

The police officer told how he called the deputy and invited him to his office, where he was holding his son.

“He came along with Taulant Balla, Mayor Artur Bushi, and his brother Xhelal. Outside the police station there were ten other persons, all people with criminal precedents”, Nuhu said.

“I told him his son was to be arrested, because he was accused of rape. Rrahman said ‘you have no chance to arrest my son’. Hi brother Xhelal also said I had no chance to arrest his nephew or else I wouldn’t get alive out of my office”.

Nuhu said he explained them he had the order from the prosecutor to arrest Rexhep Rrahja and he took the phone to call her. In that moment, Xhelal Rrahja stopped him by putting the gun to his head.

“He took the gun and put it on my head saying I would not talk to anyone and everything would stay within my office or he would eliminate me”, said Nuhu, telling everything happened before the eyes of Taulant Balla, head of Socialist parliamentary group, and Mayor Artur Bushi. They calmly ordered Xhelal to put the gun down.

“They said ‘put the gun down, the officer is a nice guy, he won’t do that kind of mistake’. He put it down and said that the case was closed there”.

Nuhu explained both Balla and Bushi told Xhelal to put the gun down. Then they left the office, taking the deputy’s son with them, against the order to arrest him.

“I was powerless to act against them and they took him away”, Nuhu said.
