Mayor of Tepelenë, in southern Albania, Tërmet Peçi, who was filmed singing a song for former communist dictator Enver Hoxha, has no regrets.
Peçi sang in an official dinner organized from the City Hall to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the county’s liberation from the Nazi occupying forces in WW2.
After the video was published online, Democrat deputy Tritan Shehu asked Premier Edi Rama to fire Peçi.
Asked by media reporters, the Socialist Mayor said it was all “within the framework of the celebrations, nothing else”.
“Let them fire me, what can I say more? I will deal no longer with this story”, Peçi said.
