Albanian President Ilir Meta said in an interview with the Italian daily Il Messaggero he hopes the European Union sees the progress Albania has made considering not only the European integrity but also considering strengthening the economy and the rule of law.
The focus in the Balkans now is on a projected land swap between Serbia and Kosovo and Meta says the normalization of the relations is very important for the stability in the region. However, he is against a change of borders.
“A consolidation of the relations between Prishtina and Belgrade is essential for the peace and stability in the region and not only, so they can move together towards European integration, but without touching the borders”, Albania President said.
