Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias said from Oslo his country is very near reaching an agreement with Albania for the maritime borders delimitation.

Kotzias said this is a big chance offered to Greece from Albanian Premier Edi Rama’s government.

“Through a proactive foreign policy, we are now near the solution of our old disputes with Albania”, Kotzias said.

“Very soon, I believe we’ll finish the negotiations for a ten-issue package. It includes the delimitation of the maritime borders and areas”.

“The question is that these problems were created and not solved during the Cold War. Albania was under Enver Hoxha’s isolationist rule, so we had no chance to negotiate with him”, the Greek Foreign Minister said in a meeting in the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs.
