Albanian Premier Edi Rama has expelled one Socialist MPs accusing him of making calls for protests against the police. Speaking in the Socialist Party assembly, Rama said the deputy of Laç Gjetan Gjetani will no longer be a member of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, saying there’s no place for him in the party.

“He is not present and he’s done well for not coming here today”, Rama said.

“He has made no job and only sought favor to make appointments and wanted also to appoint chiefs of police departments. This deputy has no more a place among us”.

Posting on his Facebook page, Gjetani expressed his concern about the growing criminality in the county of Kurbin and blamed the police for incompetence and corruption after the murders of two young people.

“Within September I will request and interpellation with the Interior Minister in the parliament and unless he takes measures to clean the police department of Kurbin I will be the first to protest asking for the protection of the citizens, with no regards for the political colours”, Gjetani wrote, prompting Rama to expel him.
