The chairman of the Agrarian Party, Agron Duka, has proposed the creation of an international task force to fight what he called “a catastrophic situation” in Albania where “politics, a part of business and crime have become one”. Duka said the task force would only deal with the cases of links between politics and crime.
Saying that the situation is out of control, Duka added the undoing of this symbiosis is the biggest challenge ahead not only of the opposition but also of the entire Albanian society.
“The case of journalist Klodiana Lala (whose parents’ house was shot at with a barrage of AK-47 bullets) is emblematic, it shows the terrain and courage of crime are huge”, Duka said in an interview with the Albanian daily Telegrafi.
“Maybe it’s time for an international call, why not started by the opposition, to ask for the support of our allies’ law enforcing agencies to establish a task force to deal exclusively with this problem. We cannot do it alone”.
