The Albanian opposition parties have decided to boycott the first session of the parliament today and will meet in the northern city of Shkodër in an extraordinary meeting for the aggravated criminal situation.

The parliamentary session will start at 17:00 but the opposition decided not to take part after a meeting of the Democrat Party (PD) with its allies. The meeting in Shkodër will serve as a reminder against criminality following a wave of crimes in the northern city in the last few days, with several executions, murders and persons kidnapping.

PD and its allies decided that “releasing the government from crime will be an absolute priority of the opposition”.
