The Albanian opposition has accused Premier Edi Rama of a “Mafioso project” to seize the judiciary by not wiping the corrupt from the justice system.

Democrat deputy Enkelejd Alibeaj referred to the judge Igli Toska which passed the vetting process despite the institutions recommended the opposite.

Alibeaj said “Edi Rama is the architect of the vetting farce, because he needs the corrupt judges to implement his Mafioso project of seizing the justice system and put it at the service of protecting the corruption and organized crime with which he governs the country”.

“Judge Ilir Toska, Edi Rama’s candidate for the High Judiciary Court has been evaluated by the responsible institutions as not fit for the job and he should have been dismissed by the vetting organs”.

Alibeja asked how could Rama open the way to a judge that has been caught “with voice and image” in corruptive affairs instead of firing him.

“Edi Rama is excused to remain silent confronting these questions and other facts, because his mask of a reformer of justice has fallen already”, Alibeaj said.
