Member of the Albanian Parliament Vangjel Tavo was not present in Thursday’s session where the law for the demolition of the National Theatre house was passed by the Socialist majority however his name results among those who voted.

Tavo was surprised to see his name among the voters, saying he is currently abroad.

There are suspicions Deputy Robert Bitri voted in Tavo’s place.

Bitri was elected from the LSI electoral lists in the county of Fier, but recently left the parliamentary group of the Socialist Movement for Integration, saying he would be an independent deputy but has actually joined the governing majority.

Head of LSI parliamentary group Petrit Vasili confirmed it was Bitri who voted for Tavo, calling for the voting to be considered void.
