The chairman of the Socialist Party parliamentary group Taulant Balla did not deny the allegations against him by Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha. The later pointed to Balla as the person that had guaranteed the affair with one of the most dangerous drug trafficking groups to smuggle to Albania the millions of Euros of traffic money that sere seized in the harbour of Durrës.

Balla’s response was simply ironical and offensive, writing on his Facebook page: I pity those that believe you (Basha) and it’s our burden to have such a theatrical opposition. You are so finished that you cannot even tie your underwear that fall everyday in the people’s eyes”.

Balla’s response came after the Democrat leader’s declarations to media reporters today after millions of Euros were discovered aboard a Toytoa Yaris car.

“I can tell you only three things”, Basha told reporter. “First, the money belongs to one of the most dangerous gangs of the drugs traffic, very active in the area of Elbasan and in the whole Albania. Second, Taulant Balla had an agreement to guarantee the entrance of the money to Albania. Third, the Albanian police have been under pressure from one of our partners to act. It’s one of the partner countries that are skeptical when it comes to the conditions put on Albania for the EU integration, especially concerning the fight against crime and corruption”.
