The Netherlands seems to be the country that will block the opening of EU accession negotiations with Albania. The Dutch government is expected to veto the opening of negotiations in the European Council summit of June 28-29.

At least six Dutch parties think opening the negotiations with Albania is premature, since the country has many major problems with drugs, corruption, rule of law and organized crime.

The decision has been taken by the committee of European Affairs in the Dutch Parliament.
