Petrit Vasili, the head of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI) said Albanian Premier Edi Rama must face investigation after declaring that wiretapping of the Interior Minister’s brother was a deception and not authentic, while it was still under investigation.

Vasili asked who gave Rama the original record of the conversation, after the Prime Minister said he had sent it to a foreign laboratory for expertise, adding that “if it was the Prosecution Office, then we are in front of a huge scandal”.

“There are several big questions, asked not simply by us but by the whole public opinion”, Vasili told media reporters today.

“Who gave the audio recording to Rama, because only the Prosecution Office has it? Second, in what capacity did Rama ask to make verifications, as a private citizen or as a government official? Why did the Prime Minister lie about a case that was under investigation by the Prosecution?”, Vasili asked Rama publically.
