The Democratic Party of Albania (PD) has initiated a resolution on Premier Edi Rama’s hate speech, considering it as very important for the freedom of speech. PD’s initiative came after the latest report on the freedom of media in Albania, which has highlighted an increasing hate against the media and reporters by Rama himself, who often dubs the reporters as ignorant, charlatans and public enemies.

"PD lauds the report of Reporters without Borders, which said the truth about the serious situation of the media in Albania, about its concentration in the hands of businessmen linked to the power, the censorship and the increased hate against the reporters, incited by Premier Edi Rama”, Democrat deputy Albana Vokshi said.

“In the capacity of the Chairwoman of the Parliamentary Committee of Media, together with the Democrat parliamentary group, I have initiated the draft of a Resolution on the Premier’s hate speech”.
