Former Albanian President Bujar Nishani said the violent protest of March 31 against the new highway toll was an eruption of the citizens’ anger that had accumulated for years.

In an interview with the newspaper Panorama, Nishani called the government as arrogant and blackmailing the people.

“The citizens protest in the Road of the Nation highway is the eruption of the anger that has accumulated for years against the bad governance that has impoverished the people extremely, has established the cult of corruption as unpunishable, has ignored and offended the dignity and personality of the common citizen”, Nishanit said.

“One can see this anger in every corner and city of the country. Its massive outburst will be unimaginable”.
