The Democratic Party of Albania has considered as “ridiculous” and “fake” today an article published on Mother Jones website titled “How a Russian-Linked Shell Company Hired An Ex-Trump Aide to Boost Albania’s Right-Wing Party in DC”, saying it is paid by Prime Minister Edi Rama. The Democrats response said Rama used “the second level magazine” to slander for their financing.

“Edi Rama’s propaganda machine produced yesterday a paid article in a leftist second level medium to slander about the financing of the Democratic Party”, the declaration says.

“The article is ridiculous in its content and scandalous in the falsification of facts and in the logical leaps. It is a product of a broad campaign started by Edi Rama, financed by illicit sources that come from the world of crime and corruption”.

“The campaign aims to discourage the efforts of the opposition and every other factor against crime and drugs. The campaign funded from illicit sources is taking place now that Edi Rama is pressuring to close the investigation over Saimir Tahiri and not allow investigation over the politic guarantor of the Colombian cocaine traffic”.

“The Democratic Party has not violated any law, either Albanian or American or of any other country. The Democratic Party has not had and does not have either direct or indirect relations to Russians individuals or companies”.

“Edi Rama’s and his mercenaries’ efforts to implicate PD is a barren battle. Nothing will separate PD from the fight against drugs, crime and the seizure of state by criminal interests”, the declaration of the Democratic Party says.
