Albanian President Ilir Meta received the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, which is leading a high-level EU delegation visiting Tirana.

Meta appreciated the visit as “very important” and “encouraging” for Albania, highlighting that all the political forces in the country share the same aim of full integration in the European Union, wishing a soon opening of the negotiations.

The Albanian President said he hopes – thanks to common efforts – the member countries will be convinced for opening the negotiation with Albania before the end of the Bulgarian presidency.

Meta also encouraged the removal of visas for Kosovo citizens travelling in the Schengen area, believing the agreement of demarcation with Montenegro will be reached soon.
