Good evening. Plug is starting. In today’s program, we focus on another case of abuse, where well-known figures linked to those in power suddenly emerge as investors, developers, and beneficiaries of energy projects. One such figure is footballer Igli Tare, a popular name among sports fans, who now appears to be equally favored by Edi Rama and Belinda Balluku.

There would be no reason for suspicion if such a figure entered business, invested, or benefited from his own activity. In this case, however, we are confronted with the exploitation of state assets and public wealth by a group of officials who are treating Albania as their own spoils.

From the outset, Plug has pursued a single goal: transparency, the mission entrusted to it by public viewership.

Professionally, investigative journalism does not determine guilt or bring charges. It publishes facts and raises hypotheses that are ultimately confirmed by public opinion, justice institutions, or by the subjects of investigation themselves, all of whom have the right to respond, as has occurred in numerous cases.

To date, we have shed light on several cases that SPAK has regarded as among the largest corruption affairs in the country.

Each episode of this program has revealed not only rampant corruption in Albania, but also a carefully designed scheme to siphon off public funds and property. While these denunciations continue, Prime Minister Edi Rama seeks to frame corruption as a societal problem rather than one rooted in his government.
