The decision of the Parliament of Kingdom of the Netherlands is a heavy accusation to the narco-state and its narcos, but it is also an alarm bell for the Albanian citizens.

The Netherlands, the first country that supported visa-free movement for Albania, happened to be the first country to vote for the returning of visas, nine years later.

This decision was not a lightning in clear skies, but it came after Albania has been declared for two successive years as an international operational center of the criminal organizations from Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Only last week, Europol and other serious agencies declared the organized crime a bigger threat than terrorism for the security in Europe and the Albanian criminal organizations topped the danger pyramid.

The decision came after Albania was dubbed by the international media as Canabisstan or the Columbia of Europe, after being dubbed repeatedly since 2017 as a narco-state.

The decision was taken after the Albanian nationals top the list of asylum seekers in the Netherlands and France, leaving behind Syria, Sudan and Afghanistan. A recent Gallup survey showed 60% of Albanians want to leave the country. Albania tops the list of countries where its nationals want to leave and do not plan to come back, behind Sierra Leone, Liberia and Haiti. But, if for the first three the motives were the deadly epidemics of Ebola and cholera, and the devastating earthquake, the main motive for Albanians is the insecurity, criminality and the murder of hope that are directly linked to the head of the medusa, Edi Rama.

The Parliament of the Netherlands decided after a report of the law-enforcing agencies of the Kingdom of the Netherlands confirmed a dramatic increase of the criminality and drug traffic from the Albanian citizens in the country. It was taken after a number of delegations from Holland visited our country in the last two years, with two minister of the government of Holland visiting Albania in the last two month only. It was not a sudden and unexpected decision, it was anticipated by the Dutch authorities for two years.

The decision of the Dutch parliament is also a strong alarm bell for all Albanians. I’d like to appeal to the Albanian citizens to choose between Edi Rama’s narco-state and the visa-free movement and their European future.
