Albanian journalist Artan Hoxha has commented the appointment of Bledi Çuçi as the new Minister of Interior, revealing that Çuçi has interrogated him over his news articles when he was officer of justice police at Tirana’s prosecution office.

Hoxha revealed how Çuçi interrogated him for 2 out of 3 lawsuits filed against him from the government over a news report titled “The traffic with the hydrocarbons smuggling”.

“I thought the new Interior Minister would be some unknown name from institutions or ambient we don’t know about, but the Prime Minister made another choice. I think it was to avoid any risk of not being decreed by the President”, Hoxha said.

“I was surprised why Çuçi was appointed Minister of Agriculture, not when he was appointed Interior Minister. He the optimal person for that ministry among Rama’s cabinet, because he used to be an officer of the justice police at Tirana’s Prosecution Office. I have been interrogated by him. He did the investigation, took my statements. He was inexperienced, had just started”.

Hoxha added Çuçi’s part in the investigation was to disclose the journalist’s sources of information.
