The Albanian State Police called extremists the participants in the protest rally against the murder of Klodian Rasha on December 8 by a police patrol. In a press release, police said the protesters were violent extremists, shattered the windows of the institutions and damaged parked cars.

The statement also said several police officers were injured during the rally.

“Three police members are in hospital in a rather serious situation after taking head and body injuries, caused with sharp objects from the protesters. Six other effectives are in a more stable situation. A few police vehicles were damaged with sharp objects”, the police said.

The police appealed to the protesters and the organizers not to exercise violence, or they will face the consequences of the law.

“The unacceptable episode of the murder of a citizen from a police officer, who is under investigation in custody, cannot be used as an excuse to express blind violence, injure State Police members, and destroy public and private property”.
