The residents of Kanina, a village in the coastal county of Vlora, have filed a class action lawsuit in a court of law against a ruling Socialist Party MP, accusing him of appropriating 120 hectares of land that belongs to them. The real owners have signed the petition claiming the Socialist MP Fate Velaj has seized all the land from Kanina to the Uji i Ftohtë (Cold Water) spring in Vlora. The residents say they have all the relevant deeds to prove their ownership over the land, but so says the Socialist MP, who claims he is the legitimate heir of the land.
