One week after the start of the new school year in Albania and the return of pupils and students at schools for the first time since March, at least 65 teachers and members of teaching staff have resulted infected with coronavirus. The number is expected to be higher waiting for the tests results of many other teachers in other schools.

At least 21 teachers have been infected in the capital Tirana, mainly in middle schools, 9 others in Saranda, and 8 in Durrës.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has made no official declaration about the situation of the infections emergency at the educational institutions in the country.

The Ministry published a number of preventive measures before the opening of schools on September 14, but the guide did not guarantee the implementation of the most basic restrictive measures against Covid-19 in schools, such as social distancing and personal hygiene.
