A video footage that showed a number of police effectives dancing in group in a wedding in Shkodra, with uniforms and masks, caused a wave of anger and indignation in a time when the Albanian police has punished with heavy fines tens of bars and restaurants across the country for violating the measures imposed by the government. The normative act of the Albanian authorities has banned restaurants from organizing weddings in its fight against the spread of coronavirus and police have fined and pressed charges against many restaurant owners.

Today it was revealed the four police effectives in the video are guardians in the jailhouse of Reç. They have been suspended, meanwhile a disciplinary probe has commenced against their superiors in the police department of Malësi e Madhe, the Northern district of Albania.
