Zaida Çobo, the mother of Sarandi Çobo, 15, who was brutally beaten by four police officers in Tirana for riding his bike near the artificial lake in Tirana during the coronavirus lockdown, reacted after a video made public by the Director General of the Albanian State Police, Ardi Veliu. Speaking to Member of the Parliament, Veliu said he condemned the violence on the teenager, but the public should be aware of what the boy represented. Saying that, Veliu played a video from Zaida Çobo’s account in the social media, which showed the boy’s mother holding a handgun to another woman’s head.

“I am showing you this video so that you can judge what kind of family this kid comes from. Look at this child’s family. I am showing you this video for you to see how this child has been grown up”, Veliu said, “I do not want to protect the police, but let us be realistic”.

But Çobo explained that she is an actress and that is a movie scene. “We are shooting a movie here and it is a fake gun”, the boy’s mother said.

“I had a main role in that movie and I made the public cry. I am the one whose son was murdered at Drilon Hoxha’s movie”.
