The Albanian State Police have eliminated nearly 10 thousand cannabis sativa plants in the first eight months of 2018 in the whole country.

The official report from the State Police says the majority of cannabis was cultivated in the southern areas and the eliminated quantity was four times less than the same period last year.

However, there are still cannabis shipments that reach the Italian shores aboard dinghies from Albania. It is understood the narcotic plants from the past years have been stored in warehouses, because of the abundance in the markets that led to lower prices.

The quantity that has been sequestered and destroyed by the police is equal to what Italian authorities seize in one single dinghy boat alone.
