Officials from the governing coalition in Kosovo announced the opening soon of the negotiations within the coalition over the lift of customs tariffs on Serbian goods and their replacement with measures of full reciprocity with Serbia. The 100% tariff on Serbian goods entering the country was imposed by former Premier Ramush Haradinaj as a response to Serbia’s obstructing Kosovo’s membership to Interpol.

The announcement comes in a time of added diplomatic pressure to create the conditions that would enable the restart of negotiations for the normalization of relationships between Kosovo and Serbia.
