Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj confirmed today the 100% tariff on Serbian imported products will continue, but Kosovo is seriously interested in the dialogue with Serbia, aiming the mutual recognition of the existing borders.

Haradinaj made his statement after a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel where they talked about the dialogue, visa and European integration. The Kosovo Premier added Merkel had not requested the lift of the tariff on Serbian products.

“The tariff will not be lifted and Kosovo deserves the visa-free travel and the European perspective. Kosovo’s interests now are in a better state than they were before this meeting”, Haradinaj said, adding that the relations with Germani have advanced further after meeting Merkel, whom he thanked for her dedication to Kosovo.

Concerning the mutual recognition with Serbia, Haradinaj said he was ready to talk about “Serbian citizens’ rights, economic relations, free trade, without barriers and tariffs, but Kosovo’s recognition by Serbia remains the key”.
