Kosovo’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Bajram Hasani has accused the Albanian authorities of putting up unnecessary barriers for Kosovo businesses, threatening to reciprocate by imposing trade barriers on the Albanian goods exported to Kosovo.

“Some Kosovo products face unnecessary barriers in Albania”, Hasani said, adding that he has conveyed his concern to the authorities in Tirana, without taking any response.

“Maybe they do not take our concerns seriously. The authorities in Tirana should reflect, or else we’ll enforce the law on their products. We import several products from Albania which have a lower cost than the ones produced here and this is damaging the Kosovo producers”, Hasani said, warning to put barriers on Albanian products in order to protect “our producers”.
