Last night’s session was one of the longest ever in the history of the Albanian parliament, lasting for more than 16 hours with strong debates and arguments, in particular for the organs of vetting.

Late after midnight happened what PM Edi Rama wanted to, passing with 74 votes the law on structures of vetting and of the special college of appeal in the Constitutional Court, also the classification of salaries of the public commissioner; all according to versions proposed by the Socialist-controlled Committee of Laws.

In the end, the parliament rejected with 52 votes the Democrat Party’s proposal and with 53 votes the LSI’s proposal for the organs of vetting.

Also, the parliament accepted the two decrees of former President Bujar Nishani for the return of the bill on law import and for the chambers of trade and industry. Bothe decrees were voted by the opposition, while the majority abstained.
