A secret document has revealed a new scandal in the police forces, which have refused to spy on a criminal group from Elbasan, suspected of murder attempt, with the excuse the police effectives were currently on leave. The scandal may take political dimensions as one of the three gang members that would be spied on and actually protected by police in this case is Sokol Sanxhaktari, 31, the son in law of Elbasan’s Mayor Qazim Sejdini.
According to documents secured by Report TV, the prosecution office of Elbasan has requested from the State Police the photographic, audio and video surveillance of Sokol Sanxhaktari, Kelmend Xhaferri and Enea Bekteshi.
According to the prosecution, the surveillance was due from August 11 to 26 from the experts of the Directorate of the Special Operational Force of the State Police.
The Prosecution authorized the surveillance in public places of the abovementioned persons. But, only 13 days later, the State Police responded that “considering the high dynamics of services in the function of the current penal proceedings and the limited number of specialists, due to the graphic of annual vacations, it is impossible to carry out the activity of surveillance of the persons and premises in this time fragment”.
The investigations that involve Mayor Sejdini’s son in law are connected to an attack with a bazooka against a hotel, in August 5, 2017, in the middle of a long bloody feud among criminal families in Elbasan.
