Albanian Premier Edi Rama explained in a meeting with journalists why he left former interior minister Saimir Tahiri out of the government cabinet. According to Rama, Tahiri will be necessary in the Socialist parliamentary group for the purpouse of keeping the government under pressure.

“This is not like the selection of the football national team. It’s not like the government is a selection of those who play and those who stay in the bench. We have a huge need for all the three components: the party, the government and the parliamentary group. Should the Group component get weaker and not invested in, we’d have a big problem for the government as well”, Rama told reporters in Llogara, Vlora district.

“The government needs a group that keeps it under pressure”.
