“We still have charlatan diplomats”, were the heavy words Albanian PM Edi Rama to the Albanian Ambassadors, gathered in a meeting in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Rama’s remarks were an indirect criticism for FM Ditmir Bushati as well.

The Prime Minister said from now on the job of the new chief of the diplomacy will be measured in annual bases and underlined “a huge change is needed” in the foreign service.

"You cannot satisfy any longer with a protest note, some dry announcement or waiting for the next call to justify you salary”, Rama told the ambassadors.

PM’s main remark had to do with the lack of efforts in four years to bring investments, economic operators to Albania, as a result of a lack of ideas to offer the country the best business experiences.

“We have cleaned up many diplomats, parasites, and there is a lot of cleaning to do, because there are still charlatan diplomats. The country needs respectable people”, Rama said.
