The Governments of Albania and Macedonia will hold a joint meeting this fall in Pogradec, Eastern Albania.

The news was announced by Albanian Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati during the joint press conference with Macedonian FM Nikola Dimitrov, which is paying a visit to Tirana today.

"We agreed to hold the first meeting of our two governments in Pogradec this fall and this will be a new development, because it will create the possibility to make clear the sectors of cooperation for the fulfillment of the strategic projects with European funds. Albania and Macedonia have the necessary potential for a new development axis”, Bushati said.

“We are happy for our next meeting, as well as for the signature of the Adriatic Statement that will be held in Tirana and will be very significant for us as NATO’s 30th member”, Dimitrov said.

Asked by the media reporters whether Albania has any open issue with Macedonia, Bushati denied it, adding Albania is seeking only for engagement and cooperation.
