The ruling coalition majority in the parliament has voted today for the appointment of four new ministers in the government.

Premier Edi Rama made four changes to his cabinet last week, which were decreed by President Bujar Nishani earlier this week and sent to be voted in the parliament.

Fatmir Xhafaj was voted with 76 votes to replace former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri, who was dismissed with 75 votes.

Olgerta Manastirliu gathered 79 votes as the new Minister of Health, replacing Ilir Beqaj, dismissed with 78 votes, the same as former minister of Local Power Bledi Çuçi, who was replaced from Eduard Shalsi, with 76 votes in his favour.

Olta Xhaçka gathered 76 votes as the new Minister of Social Wellbeing, instead of former minister Blendi Klosi.

The vote for Blendi Klosi’s dismissal and his replacement with Olta Xhaçka was repeated, because it received only 70 votes the first time, which was one vote shy of the required number.

Head of PS parliamentary group Gramoz Ruçi intervened and reminded the Deputy Speaker Velantina Leskaj, who chaired the session, that the vote should be repeated.

The second time, Klosi’s dismissal was approved with 76 votes and his replacement with Xhaçka was approved with the same number of votes.
