The Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI) has requested Premier Edi Rama’s resignation after the latest developments in the parliament. Chairman of the LSI parliamentary group Petrit Vasili accused Rama of using racist language against Hebrews while speaking about Albania’s vote in favor of the UN Resolution on Jerusalem. Rama used the word “çifutë” which is Albanian slang for Jews and considered as derogatory.

"Right in the middle of the parliament, while discussing about Albanian government’s anti-US vote, the Prime Minister spoke with Nazi language and called the Hebrews "çifutë”, Vasili wrote today. “Morally and politically, after such a serious event, he should have been no longer Albania’s Prime Minister. All expected the US Embassy to react against such a wild anti-Semitic language use by the Prime Minister.

The Embassy did not speak…

It spoke… only late in the evening, “happy” that the Prime Minister voted against the International Monitoring Operation and for the candidates rejected by it, i.e. by America itself. Now they’ll make the justice of the anti-Semitic and anti-US Prime Minister”.
