The sudden extradition of Nezar Seiti to Italy yesterday caught many by surprise. Seiti is considered as the man that kept the finances of the criminal gang that smuggled drugs to Italy and he was wanted by the Italian authorities, following the arrest of the gang leader Moisi Habilaj last year. However, it was a surprise he was immediately extradited to Italy, because he is still under investigation in Albania over drugs traffic charges.

Former Premier Sali Berisha wrote in his Facebook page today Seiti was extradited in a hurry because he was ready to collaborate with justice. Habilaj, the head of the organization, arrested in Italy, is a relative of former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri, also under investigation for implication in the international drug traffic.

“The financier of the Habilaj - Tahiri organization was extradited because we was collaborating with justice”, Berisha says.

“After his election as Albania’s General Prosecutor and chief judge, the head of Albania mafia (PM Edi Rama) acted with lighting speed. He released Soto, who, along with Tahiri, has been transporting millions of Euros of crime with his car, he returned Tahiri his passport, released dangerous international criminals from prisons and extradited the financier of the Habilaj – Tahiri organization”.

“The urgent departure of the financier from Albania was made because he had given clear signals he wanted to become a collaborator of justice. By extraditing him, the “General Prosecutor” closed the dossiers of Habilaj and Tahiri definitely. This is another criminal act that must be responded properly through the popular protest of January 27”.
