Head of the Environment Department in the Democratic Party, Jamarbër Malltezi, accused Premier Edi Rama and Minister of Finances Arben Ahmetaj of imposing taxes on the Albanian citizens with the intention of benefiting for themselves.
Malltezi said the government “is putting the garbage tax to support Rama’s and Ahmetaj’s incinerators”.
“The decision was taken by the Commission of the State Aid, chaired by Arben Ahmetaj, on November 23, 2017. The scheme is financed by the tax that obligates the power distribution company, OSHEE, to buy energy produced by the incinerators”, Malltezi said today.
“It is a new tax, unheard before, which will go directly to Rama’s and Ahmetaj’s pockets through making efficient the factories of incinerating the garbage in Tirana, Fier and Elbasan”.
