The Democratic Party of Albania accused Premier Edi Rama of making all efforts to protect former IM Saimir Tahiri, following the release on parole of Orest Sota, the young businessman that was caught with 863 thousand Euros and two boating licenses of Tahiri in his car.

Democrat MP Edi Paloka said “no big fish will get caught in the justice net as long as Edi Rama will be the General Prosecutor”.

"The effects of Edi Rama as the General Prosecutor are hitting the justice every day and giving protection from law to anyone that implicates Saimir Tahiri in the international drug traffic”, Paloka said. “Orest Sota’s release… is another proof Rama controls the key points of the justice system”.

“The Albanian citizens heard with their own ears how the Interior Minister was a part of the international drug traffic. The auto materials posted on Politiko.al confirmed that the car of the Interior Minister was used by his cousins, the Habilaj brothers, to pressure on police so they could work untroubled with the drugs traffic. It confirmed Tahiri knew the Italian Habiljas worked with in Italy and that the Socialist Party has bought votes to come to power and keep it”.
