The Albanian parliament has elected the interim General Prosecutor amid high tension, opposition protests and smoke bombs.
One smoke bomb was thrown at the Parliament Speaker Gramoz Ruçi.
Despite the opposition’s protests and warnings not to go ahead with the voting, the majority elected MS. Arta Marku as the interim General Prosecutor of the Republic, succeeding former General Prosecutor Adriatik Llalla.
Marku was elected with 69 votes. Two deputies voted against and two others abstained.
