Former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri declared today he does not worry he won’t be able to travel abroad after the Court for Serious Crimes decided to block his passport, but he is concerned about the principles. Tahiri made his declaration to judge Liliana Baku, asking her to lift the ban because the Prosecution did not bring any new evidence to motivate such a decision, but only the old evidence they had in Tahiri’s file since October 20.

“I have no problem with the measure taken, you may even keep me in jail, but my concern is about the principle. You have no new evidence, you had it since October 20, why did you ask to ban me from traveling abroad one month and a few days late? There’s no new proof”, Tahiri said.

His lawyer Maks Haxhia told the media reporters it was an expected decision, because the court has transformed into a notary of the Prosecution’s decisions.
