The headlines above are only a few from tens of articles published recently not from any Russian or ISIS- or Hamas-related anti-US radical media outlet.

One can find many of them in the Albanian media and, strangely enough, in particular at those declared at Premier Edi Rama’s service. It’s the same media that during and even after the 2016 US presidential campaign started an unprecedented campaign against then-candidate and later President-elect Donald Trump.

At that time, Syri.net appealed US Ambassador Donald Lu through an editorial to interfere to protect his President. If not publically, at least through his channels. “Half a word” to Edi Rama would have been enough and the anti-Trump campaign in Tirana would stop immediately.

But the strangest thing, which appears openly without any sophistication is that every time the media outlets out of Rama’s control criticize Ambassador Lu, following the political developments in the country, or when they reveal facts that show Lu as a big champion of the Albanian PM, the same anti-Trump media open fire with all their batteries in Lu’s protection.

At a first glance, it seems that something’s not right in this story. Albanian Premier-controlled media tarnish Trump’s figure and presidency, but are in love and the biggest chaperones of his representative in Albania, Donald Lu.

In fact, there is nothing strange here. While it’s true Donald Lu is the Ambassador of the United States, at the same time he is simply “Don”, as Edi Rama coddles him, even in public.

United States spoke through the Department of State and its serious media about Albania’s transformation in a giant cannabis plantation during 2015-2015, also with the government’s approval and cooperation. But, in Tirana, Donald stayed quiet!

However, when Rama needed to shut the opposition’s mouth, the official clothes were urgently put on Donald: “Had the drugs story been true, the US Ambassador would have said something about it…”

It all is “confused” and badly messed up here: Is Donald Lu and the US Ambassador in Tirana totally the same person that represents the interests of the big ally, or is it a double game being played?

Syri.net published yesterday documents that prove Donald’s under-the-shadow but direct intervention, in the Ambassador’s clothes, to lobby personally in favor of Premier Rama. No other media outlet (excluding hashtag.al and tpz.al) didn’t dare to publish the investigation – which in essence is a real scandal – about what happens behind the scene between the foreign diplomats and the Albanian government.

There is no big alarm when Edi Rama is crucified by Tirana’s media, but any time Donald Lu’s integrity and neutrality as Ambassador is viewed with doubt – also with facts that even he has not dared to deny – a state of emergency is proclaimed. One can have the impression that Edi Rama’s power and “Renaissance” is supported only on Lu’s and (Head of EU Delegation) Romana Vlahutin’s columns.

To think they do care for the United States and that’s why they wish no harm to the US representative in Tirana is easily excluded even by a mere investigation like this. To denigrate the US President and feel bad for a simple soldier of the “big empire” shows a certain problem, a huge one perhaps.

And as a matter of fact there is a common problem, not between the Ambassador and Albania, but between Donald Lu and Edi Rama. That’s why both, especially the latter, took “Lapsi”* (the Pencil), turned it bottom-down and erased the investigative article about the lobbying firm that had exchanged calls and emails with Lu.

It was about the thousands of dollars paid by Edi Rama to armor the façade of his corrupt government in the United States as well. The one that here is kept safe for internal use by Don, not the President Trump’s man in Tirana.
