Former Albanian President Sali Berisha remembered December 8, 1990, when students raised in protests against the communist dictatorship, leading to the establishment of the political pluralism in the country.

Berisha said Albania of that time was even worse than North Korea today, with 96 young people murdered in the borders only because they wanted to go away from the isolation.

The former Prime Minister and Democrat Party chairman added today’s Albania is experiencing another dark period, with the criminality and cannabis cultivation and with the government’s implication.

“Where are we today? Excluding the dark years of the dictatorship, we have never been in a worse situation. The world media report every day bad news on Albania and the narco-state that is being built here. Is Edi Rama implicated? Of course he is, since (his brother) Olsi Rama is and everybody else”, Berisha said in his remembrance speech, calling for courage to throw the government in (Tirana’s) river Lana.
