Former Albanian Premier Sali Berisha warned his successor Edi Rama his circle was closing and he’d go to jail for the monstrous crimes against the country.

“You are walking towards the place you belong to, a fine jail cell where you deserve to be for the calamity to Albania. You are “the big fish”, you must be held responsible for the monstrous crimes against this country”, Berisha said to Rama.

While debating with Rama today in the parliamentary session, Berisha recalled a meeting they had in January 10, 1991, telling a version different from Rama’s.

Berisha said Rama, at the time a member of the newly-founded Democratic Party, said he would use a much harsher language in his speech in the rally.

“I will say we must hang a communist in every street light pole. A member of the Central Committee (of the Communist Party) must be hung in every pole”, Berisha quoted Rama as saying back in 1991.

“I said ‘ok, say it, but don’t forget to hang your father as well”, Berisha recalls telling Rama, referring to the latter’s father, a member of the Central Committee of the Party of Labor (Communist).

“I will”, Rama responded.
