The Albanian government is totally paralyzed because of the situation created in the country after its connections to the international drugs traffic were revealed, Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha said in a meeting with Austrian Secretary-General for Foreign Affairs Michael Linhart today.

The opposition chief told Dr. Linhart that from cannabis cultivation the government is now passing to the traffic of heroin and cocaine and the dirty money laundering in several fields of the Albanian economy, such as construction and the projects of the public-private partnership.

Basha added that the record immigration of the Albanian citizens to EU countries is a consequence of their delusion from the government, which is represented in every level by corrupt and incriminated people.

“EU should no longer tolerate these issues, because its credibility is at stake”, Basha said.

Austria will take the EU Presidency next July and Dr. Linhart guaranteed Basha for his country’s full support for the reforms implementation and reaching concrete results.
