The Parliament’s Bureau rejected a request of the Democratic Party for the 10-day suspension of the Socialist MP Pjerin Ndreu after he threatened physically the Democrat MP Ervin Salianji.

Speaker Gramoz Ruçi said the meeting of the Bureau “cannot examine such a case, because the Bureau does not punish deputies for offending each-other in the committees”.

Ndreu threatened to beat Salianji during a meeting of the parliamentary Committee of Security on November 7, after he and his Socialist fellow Paulin Sterkaj did not like Salianji’s questions to Minister of Defense Olta Xhaçka about the army budget.

“Do you need more budget to control former military depots that are used for drugs storage? Do you need more budget to make the radars work?”, Salianji asked.

Paulin Sterkaj told Salianji “you are a mountain nightingale, you’ve come here only to talk”.

Ndreu, without microphone, addressed to Salianji telling him not to provoke them all “or else you’ll be beaten. You need to be beaten”.

Meanwhile Sterkaj continued to tell Salianji: “I wrestle, box and do karate. Do not pressure me”.

Pjerin Ndreu also continued with his threats: “Be nice, because you have become a nasty provocateur. Be nice, don’t you see what has happened in the past?”.

Salianji answered to the Socialist deputies, both former police officers that he doesn’t care and fears “no gangster”.
