The Democratic Party of Albania has denounced threats made to its MP Ervin Salianji during the meeting of the parliamentary Committee of Security.

Salianji accused two Socialist deputies, Pjerin Ndreu and Paulin Sterkaj, of threatening him, while PD adds they have a criminal past.

“The Democratic Party condemns the threatening of Deputy Salianji in the Committee of Security today, made by the deputy of the Socialist Party Pjerin Ndreu, expelled by the police force in 2004 as implicated in drugs traffic, and deputy of the Socialist Party Paulin Stërkaj, reported by the State Intelligence Service during the Socialist governance as connected to drugs and human beings traffic during his police tenure”, the Democratic Party said in a statement released today.

“The Democratic Party requires from the Prosecution Office to investigate over this mob threat by a recidivist of violence and threats in the Parliament, like Pjerin Ndreu and his colleague Sterkaj. We also ask the international partners to monitor this act and understand that the crime represented in the parliament, the crime as a choice and partnership of Edi Rama cannot be a solution to the fight on drugs and criminality. The criminality has the power thanks to Edi Rama and only with Rama’s removal from power we can have a real fight against it and liberation from Mafia and mobsters”.
