Former minister of Justice Ylli Manjani said Visho Ajazi’s resignation was not a surprise at all. Ajazi stepped down from his post as Director of the State Intelligence Service (SHISH) and many see this as giving up to PM Edi Rama’s pressure.

Manjani told Opinion on TV Klan Ajazi had presented his resignation to Rama four months ago, but the latter had neither accepted nor rejected it. The Prime Minister told Ajazi to stay on office up to another communication from Rama.

Based on Manjani’s declaration, Rama was certain of the SHISH head’s resignation and used it as a reserve stone for the right moment, which apparently came last Friday.

Rama’s movement four month later coincides with the outburst of Saimir Tahiri’s scandal of implication in drugs traffic. According to Manjani, Rama is using Ajazi’s resignation to attract the attention away from Tahiri’s case and the open conflict with the Prosecution Office.
