Former Minister of Justice Enkelejd Alibeaj has devaluated Saimir Tahiri’s “innocence” document that he waved before the media reporters today. Tahiri, who is facing charges for drugs trafficking, presented a document from the Prosecution of Catania in Italy, which say they had no investigation under way for the former interior minister of Albania.

Democrat deputy Alibeaj said the document Tahiri showed has no value for the Albanian justice.

“The paper Tahiri showed today may be waived for the militants of the courtyard and for nobody else. The Prosecution of Catania has arrested Moisi Habialj and is looking for other members of the gang, because they have been caught performing criminal activity in the Italian territory”, explained Alibeaj.

“The Prosecution of Catania neither can nor has the duty to proceed against the minister in Tirana that protects and favors the drugs traffic”.

“This is a duty of the Albanian prosecution. Namely this duty of the Albanian prosecution and justice are obstructing Rama and Tahiri, by not accepting its requests. The accusation of the Italian anti-mafia for Tahiri are the 1800 pages, proof, testimonies and facts that show the direct implication of Tahiri and his profits of millions of Euros from the traffic of tons of drugs”.

“Any Albanian citizen would be in jail with this evidence. But Saimir Tahiri isn’t, because he has immunity and is backed by Edi Rama”.
