The state’s wheel diggers recently demolished the house of Prek Cali, one of the most noted leaders and the most ardent patriot of the North of Albania. Edvin Kristaq Rama, after such an ugly act of fatherly hatred burst, hid his dark hand, but a few hours later Rama was denied by his own spokesman that chairs the municipality of Koplik. The government’s wheel diggers were immediately joined by its servants in the media with pseudo arguments based totally in history’s falsification. Undisputable documents have proved that the flooding of the hordes led by executioners like Mehmet Shehu, Shefqet Peçi and their Yugoslav chiefs in the North were nothing but an expansion of the civil war in these areas by the Serbian-Albanian clique of Tirana.

After the major act of national treason, the annulment within e week of the historic Agreement of Mukje, in August 1943, the Serbian-Montenegrin leaders of the Albanian Communist Party (PKSH) Popovic and Mugosa, along with their instrument Enver Hoxha and the criminals and terrorists, agents they had appointed in the command of the partisan units gave a fratricidal character to the war against the occupiers, set on the fire of the civil war in the South of the country, in the first operative area and beyond. They, like genuine terrorists, tortured, executed without trial hundreds freedom fighters of the Balli Kombëtar, common citizens, supporters of the Nationalists, in the counties of Gjirokastër, Vlorë, Përmet, Tepelenë, Skrapar, Fier, Berat, Lushnjë; burnt and robbed hundreds of houses and properties. In Matjan of Lushnja only, Mehmet Shehu and his commander Dusan Mugosa executed, in a night of October 1943, 67 men, freedom fighters of Balli Kombëtar, selected by Mugosa based on religious racism.

In the period of terror, wilder than that of the Nazi and Fascist occupiers, the South of Albania became a slaughterhouse, because in the other areas the Serbian leadership of PKSH and their instrument Enver Hoxha could not undertake such acts. In the fall of 1944, the flames of the civil war were lit by the Serbian leadership in the counties of Mat, Dibër, Kukës, where hundreds innocent people, men, women, children, many freedom fighters, co-fighters of the noted anti-fascist commander Muharrem Bajraktari were murdered, after having fought bravely against the occupiers. All those actions would be qualified as authentic terrorist acts by their authors themselves in the second plenum of PKSH in Berat.

Immediately after their installation in Tirana, the Serbian-Albanian clique would divide the country in three military zones, de facto and de jure occupied militarily. To those who might think it is being abused with the words “occupied militarily”, I’d suggest reading the telegraph terrorist Mehmet Shehu sent from Shkodër to the General Staff in Tirana, dated February 18, 1945, where he wrote: "The County of Shkodër is totally occupied in military terms”. It’s clear the terrorist hordes led by executioner Mehmet Shehu did not go to Shkodër to fight the Nazi occupation but to replace it with the new Serbian-Albanian communist occupation.

Shkodra and North confronted the new occupiers that had gone there only for terror, murders and cleansing with an unprecedented and heroic for the time. Despite of being between two fires, one from the Serbian-Albanian phalange from Tirana and the other from the Serbian-Montenegrin armies beyond the border – which, helped by the Trojan Horse, the Albanian brigades, had occupied created a bloodshed and put under administration Kosovo – the people of the North resisted. They could never reconcile with the communist ideology and Tirana’s Slavic-Albanian regime. The elite of Shkodër, the capital of the Albanian nationalism, its citizens, inhabitants of the suburbs, organized a powerful resistance against the new occupiers. Hundreds and thousands of them grabbed their arms and climbed the mountains and organized a number of revolts. One of the main leaders of this anti-communist resistance was the popular tribune Prek Cali. He fought heroically against the barbarians that were taking the freedom away from Albanians and putting them under a new Slav-communist occupation, the wildest and cruelest they had ever witnessed.

The North of Albania experienced during the occupation of the partisan hordes, brigades of the State Security and units of the Yugoslav OZNA the biggest massacres from the Serbian invasion of 1913. Men, women and children were shot dead without trial under this cruel fratricidal terror. 150 citizens were shot only during July 1945 in Shkodër, because of their anti-communist resistance. The barbarisms and terrorist acts did not spare even women and children.

According to official documents, children were shot along with their mothers in Dukagjin; women were blown off with dynamite in Pukë; in Bulqizë people were buried alive, while in the prisons of Shkodër prisoners’ legs were sawed off alive or hot irons were penetrated in their bodies to torture and take their lives. Hundreds of women and children froze in the Alps and thousand others filled the concentration camps in Turan, Memaliaj, Tepelenë, Kamzë, etc.

The resistance of the North Albania against the terrorist phalanges was the most powerful anti-communist resistance in the postwar Europe. It could not reach its high and vital goals for the freedom of Albanians, because it was like an island surrounded by all sides by the hordes of Tito and his instrument Enver Hoxha.

It did not reach its goal also because the Western allies, considering Albanian as Tito’s protectorate, chose fatally for us not helping but ignoring it. The demolition of Prek Cali’s house from the state diggers was a vendetta and continuity with other means of the civil fratricidal war, as Edi Rama considered the partisan war in Albania in 1991, but apparently, it was only a hypocritical attempt to climb the power stairs.
